This year marks the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. For this special occasion, Rev. Dr. Ryan McGraw, Professor of Systematic Theology at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, will be speaking at our Fall Conference held at Covenant Church.
The gospel is not merely about Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself is the gospel. The Christian's faith and life must begin, proceed, and end in our Lord Himself. For this reason, churches descending from the Protestant Reformation have always emphasized that our salvation comes through Christ alone (Solus Christus).
As basic as these ideas may appear to be, it is easier for many to describe Christianity in terms of Christ's benefits instead of in terms of the Savior Himself. In this conference, Professor Ryan McGraw aims to stir up our affections towards Christ by leading us to meditate on some of the key aspects of who Christ is, what He has done, and why He is central to Christian faith and life. He will do so by proclaiming Christ's glory from the Old Testament, through His humiliation, and to His exaltation.
